The Challenge

Ardagh Group has a daily customer delivery volume of over 22.5+ million cans per day, using in its daily operations more than 100 subcontracted trucks and supporting a mostly JIT supply chain for its customers.

As an additional challenge, truck configuration and availability is not known in advance, so actual load planning must be performed in real time as trucks register, whilst allocated trucking companies contract volumes and customer delivery requirements must be met to fully support the business and achieve high operational results.

The Solution

Ardagh Group chose to implement Processware's Manufacturing Solution and O2P, tightly integrated with their SAP ERP backbone.

O2P manages inbound trucks in real time, matching open contract quantities for both transporters and customers with truck configuration, adapting the load planning in order to meet the optimal scenario.

This loading configuration is transparently integrated in SAP without any administrative tasks involved, whilst loading and document issuing is fully controlled and automated.
